Flexible conductive films are a polymer thick film (PTF) flexible circuit where the conductors are actually printed onto a polymer base film.
Conductive inks are screen printed on to desired base using silver, carbon or graphite inks. It can accommodate tightly as assembled electronic packages.
They are typically single conductor layer structures, however two or more metal layer with insulating layers printed between printed conductor layers are also available while lowering in conductor conductivity.
Flex circuits are often used as connectors or interconnects in various applications where flexibility, space savings or productions constraints limit the serviceability of rigid circuit boards or hand wiring.
