Printed Heaters
A traditional heating technology generate warmth using wires or coils that create uneven heating patterns and need to be regulated using thermostat units.
Printed heaters are composed of flexible, printed positive temperature coefficient (PTC) materials, which heat evenly across the entire surface and self-regulate to their desired temperature without any need of external diagnostics or controls.
Flexible heaters are single layer flexible circuit that utilizes resistive alloys such as Inconel and Cupro-Nickel rather than copper to form conductive paths. Conductor width and thickness is selected to provide the desire resistance value based on the supply voltage. As electrical current is driven through higher resistance conductors, heat is generated.
In addition to providing a more uniform heat to the heating surface their self-regulation allows them to run open loop without external controls, which results in fewer field problems, generate safety and lower warming elements.
We produce flexible printed heaters and warming elements for many applications such as, apparel, automotive seat warming, aerospace, food service, health care and medical applications.
